Willits Food Bank Collecting Funds to Keep the Doors Open and Services Going

For over 38 years, Willits Community Services and Food Bank (WCS) has stood as a pillar of support for those in crisis. Beyond providing vital bags of sustenance, WCS extends a helping hand to individuals and families in need of a safety net, especially those grappling with unemployment, poverty, and various other human challenges. WCS operates through funding from the State of California, Mendocino County, the Ted Erickson Foundation, and the essential backing of community donations.

Amidst its ongoing efforts, WCS annually launches its Winter Fund Drive, a rallying call to secure the necessary funds to continue serving the Willits and north county communities. Generous donors, including businesses, civic groups, individuals, and families, rally behind WCS, enabling the provision of indispensable human services such as shelter, food, utility aid, transportation, bedding, and personal items. Following the passing of former WCS director Jim Marill in 2018, an outpouring of donations emerged in his honor, contributing to the food bank's resilience and success.
